Pantera was an American heavy metal band that formed in 1981 in Arlington, Texas. The band's original lineup consisted of brothers Vinnie Paul (drums) and Dimebag Darrell (guitar), along with Phil Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass).
Pantera's current lineup features long-time members Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown, as well as Charlie Benante of Anthrax and Zakk Wylde of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Label Society. The band's final studio album, "Reinventing the Steel," was released on March 21st, 2000 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Since forming in 1981, Pantera has become one of the most influential bands in heavy metal history, selling over 20 million records worldwide and receiving four Grammy nominations.
